In this workshop we will create embroidered sculptures with internationally acclaimed and award-winning artist Meredith Woolnough.
The sewing machine will be transformed into an unconventional drawing tool and you will be in control of every stitch allowing your creativity and imagination to run wild. By stitching onto a combination of woven and water-soluble fabrics we will create experimental embroidered artworks.
Suited to all levels. No experience is necessary but basic sewing machine operation skills will be helpful and a serviced machine essential.
What to bring:
A sewing machine (with the capability to turn the feet teeth off).
A freehand embroidery foot or darning foot for your sewing machine.
Sewing machine needles (sharp or jeans needles recommended).
Bobbins suited to your machine.
A small embroidery hoop (15 – 25cm is good).
Embroidery threads of your choice (high quality polyester thread recommended).
