This is a play set in 1995 about two returned female prisoners of war of the Japanese in World War Two.

One, Bridie, was an Australian Army nurse, the other, Sheila, was a young English school girl from Singapore. Both were on ships that were sunk by the Japanese in 1942. Both were imprisoned for three years on Sumatra by the Japanese and both suffered intensely together and became friends.

But when they finally meet at a television interview in Melbourne in 1995 they haven't seen each other for fifty years and Bridie wants to know why. We discover Sheila  has a painful and shocking secret, a secret that involves Bridie and the Japanese, and cannot be revealed to the world.

The brilliant actress Veronica Lang plays Sheila and Robina Beard, famous as Madge in Palmolive adverts years ago, plays Bridie. The experienced Stephen Wallace directs a very moving play, well worth the effort to come and see.
