Secondary Students

Education @ the Glasshouse 2012The Glasshouse is committed to engaging, inspiring and educating young people in the areas of performing arts, heritage and culture, with the aim of building audiences and participation in these areas now and in the future. The Education Sector is the key focus for achieving this.

Participation in the arts at all ages has been proven to promote well-being, communication and community and these outcomes are particularly valuable for young people.

Additionally, an interaction with arts and heritage for young people promotes an understanding of different cultures and histories and encourages investigation into self-expression.

Our education program is a mixture of opportunities across a variety of topics. All activities are of high quality, relate to the curriculum and include teachers' notes and kits where applicable.

The program includes:

  • Workshops with high a level of participation
  • Performances where students are audience members
  • Lectures, presentations and discussions with artists, curators and specialists
  • Tours of the building and training in arts and heritage professions
  • Teachers' professional development activities.
