HELEN GEIER

Through a glass, darkly

17 JULY - 10 AUGUST 2008

Please note that this exhibition is currently on view at our interim Gallery located at Peachtree Walk Arcade, 80 Horton Street, Port Macquarie - Ph (02) 65818737

Helen Geier’s work experiments with themes encompassing varieties of space, perspectives and cultural perceptions.

An acclaimed painter and printmaker of national standing, Geier has exhibited in major regional and capital cities throughout Australia and overseas in Paris, Singapore, Belgrade and Seoul.

Geier's work encompasses the individual’s collective cultural memory and consciousness, and alludes to the personal experience of Asian culture, Australian Landscape and the expectation of how one reacts when these are juxtaposed together. Repetition, recycling and reorganisation of motifs are common elements visible in Geier’s work.

A touring exhibition from the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery
