8 OCTOBER - 31 OCTOBER 2010
Artists Sue Bell and Dianne Greenwood were Inspired by the physical and psychological setting of an old cottage to create new artworks.
A house that stands in my heart
My cathedral of silence
Every morning captured in dream
Even evening abandoned
A house coered with dawn
Open to the winds of my youth
Jean Laroche
The two artists inhabited such an old cottage and discovered that while the house had memories of its own, it also aroused memories of their childhood bringing together imagery set in the present but from "'Different worlds and different time frames..." Images emerged of favourite pets, toys, games, objects and patterns with the house becoming the psychological setting as well as the actual space for the phenomena of memory.
