TUESDAY 6 APRIL
Animal Art with Jane Whitfield
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
From roaring lions to beautiful butterflies, kids will learn the art of observation. Participants should bring along a photo of their favourite animal creature to capture on canvas using colourful acrylic paints.
WEDNESDAY 7 APRIL
Funky Jewellery out of Air Dry Clay with Kim Staples
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
Kids will have a great time making their own unique beads and pendants out of air dry clay to take home and wear.
THURSDAY 8 APRIL
Landscape Painting with Jane Whitfield
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
Beaches, rainforests and the countryside all make up the beautiful landscapes where we live. Kids will capture these wonderful places on canvas and have a beautiful artwork to hang on the wall.
FRIDAY 9 APRIL
Clowning around with C.J Grootenboer
11.00am – 12.30pm for ages 6 – 9
2pm – 4pm for ages 10 – 13
For kids who love to be silly and make people laugh, this workshop will help them create a character of their own and perform simple skits and tricks in an ensemble. Participants should bring along any clown-like clothes they have. Nose and wig will be provided.
MONDAY 12 APRIL
Colourful Kites – with Lucy Pascale
10am – 12pm for ages 6 - 8
In this class kids will create a colourful kite inspired by traditional Chinese dragon kites. Using recycled materials, kids will make kites from scratch and decorate them with their own unique design. These kites really do fly!
Chinese Lantern Making with Lucy Pascale
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
Kids will love creating their own wonderful chinese lanterns to light up their bedrooms at night. Using bamboo and special lantern making techniques, kids will create a brilliant illumination.
TUESDAY 13 APRIL
Creating a Family Portrait with Jane Whitfield
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
Children will have a ball of fun creating photographic collages of their family on canvas to create a personalised family keepsake. Participants will need to bring several photocopied or printed images of their family members to create this wonderful memento.
WEDNESDAY 14 APRIL
Creative Shadow Puppets with Lucy Gorry
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
Inspired by the Indonesian Shadow puppets, kids will create their own movable shadow puppet on sticks. Kids will love playing with their handmade puppets, especially at night on their bedroom wall with the bedside lamp.
THURSDAY 15 APRIL
Abstract Art with Jane Whitfield
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 8
1.30pm – 3.30pm for ages 9 – 12
This workshop will explore contemporary techniques of applying vibrant, complimentary, coloured paint to canvas. Kids will splash, splatter, wipe and apply texture and patterns to create a unique contemporary artwork for their bedroom wall.
FRIDAY 16 APRIL
Create a Secret Spy Periscope with Yvonne Keily
10am – 12pm for ages 6 – 9
Kids will learn how to make the perfect spying instrument from scratch. They’ll have hours of fun using it to look around corners.
Let’s have fun with drama! With CJ Grootenboer
11.00am – 12.30pm for ages 6 – 9
Back again by popular demand, this workshop is a fantastic introduction to drama and role-playing. Participants learn the basic skills of performing through fun interactive games.
Be Alive – Improvise with CJ Grootenboer
2pm – 4pm for ages 10 – 13
For those who are quick on their feet and like to fly by the seat of their pants, this workshop will help foster the ability to make things up on the spot and use those skills to create amazing unrehearsed scenes that can end up anywhere!
