The Nature of Us + House & Home Exhibition Opening

The Glasshouse Regional Gallery is celebrating local artists across the Mid North Coast with these two wonderful exhibitions.

The Nature of Us is an exhibition by local artists Kim and Dianne Greenwood, each exploring and responding to their natural surroundings. From backyards to beaches each artist collects, and abstracts their observations and inner workings. Using the found and observed to distort and invent new worlds though collage, symbolism, colour and sculpture. Whether it is in the making or the collecting, this mother daughter duo, explore how nature can connect and become a part of the tapestries of daily lives.

House & Home is centred around two homes, one that the artist had lived in for 35 years and one, which is occupied now. This work is a reflection on moving house from a psychological, imagined and remembered experience. “ I think the first works reflect a more wistful feeling and after the move a subtle change takes place. There is a visual connection between some of this work and a previous exhibition titled ’Young at Heart’ shown at Grafton Regional Gallery. Memory was a strong trigger for this work.” SUE BELL 2023
