Glasshouse Regional Gallery presents

ARTEXPRESS

ARTEXPRESS is a HSC Showcase that celebrates the creativity and achievement of HSC Visual Arts students, featuring the high standard and diversity of works by students across New South Wales.

The Visual Arts Stage 6 Syllabus supports students to create bodies of work that represent their intention as artists and reflects or references a critical understanding of the art world. The selection of works on display showcases a range of approaches in different expressive forms.

ARTEXPRESS is a joint initiative of the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Education Standards Authority.

Exhibition-based Workshop and Tours
If you are focusing on a particular exhibition, specific theme or curriculum/syllabus outcome, we can tailor a program to your needs. These custom-made sessions can accommodate your students and help to create a dynamic excursion and engaging art experience.

Duration: 2 hours (30 minute Gallery tour + 90 minute workshop)
Cost: $15 per student
Dates and times are negotiable. ( available Tuesday - Fridays)

Everyday Experimentation Workshop
The Gallery is excited to offer a dynamic, structured workshop designed to encourage students to explore, experiment and expand their creative thinking. Focusing on the everyday object, students will develop a small series of experimental studies using a range of accessible techniques and materials.

The workshop includes a guided tour of the Glasshouse selection of ARTEXPRESS, where students will investigate how artists transform ordinary subjects into compelling works of art. Students will then return to the ARTLAB to apply these ideas in their own practice.

Using affordable and readily available materials, this workshop reinforces the idea that complexity is not always best - encouraging students to prioritise concept, experimentation and personal expression over polished outcomes.
