Glasshouse Port Macquarie presents:
Lumières De Paris [Lights of Paris]
Lumières De Paris is the new Musical Kaleidoscope spinning around so many musical genres with only "ONE" common denominator: a whirlwind of mostly French music in all possible forms and coming at you from all directions with Paris as a backdrop. You can also expect French adaptations of international works that have established themselves into the French repertoire.
Like a magnet, PARIS has over the centuries, attracted and inspired some of the most famous composers, songwriters and artistes.
From Brel to Benatzky
From Aznavour to Puccini
From Piaf to Franz Lehar
From Yves Montand to George Bizet
And the must-haves: Boublil, Schonberg and Lloyd Webber
The combination of opera, operetta, musicals and French variety is a feast for the ears and without a doubt offers an escape to another world... a world where the protagonists enchant and delight as they venture on this carousel of songs from Carmen, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Merry Widow, The White Horse Inn, Gipsy Baron, The Daughter of the Regiment, Mr Carnaval plus classics from Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Yves Montand and Jacques Brel.
Lumières de Paris is an Australian Premiere and is performed in French, English and Italian.
Award Winning Milko Foucault-Larche and Parisian born Corinne Andrew have emerged in recent years as the leading and most active ambassadors of French popular music in Australia today. They are joined on this carousel of songs by Australian soprano Emily Garth.
