Glasshouse Port Macquarie presents
Opera Australia Don Giovanni
It’s the last day of Don Giovanni’s life, but he doesn’t know that.
For opera’s own Casanova, it’s just another day of pleasure seeking. Seducing a bride on her wedding day. Breaking into a woman’s bedroom in the dead of night. Killing her furious father.
Even before the curtain rises, Mozart reveals Don Giovanni’s fate. An earth-shattering chord from the orchestra signals the gates of hell clanging open. The scoundrel’s debauched days are at an end.
In 2026, Opera Australia is bringing one of Mozart’s most fascinating characters on the road, with stops in South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.
For over 30 years, Opera Australia's National Tour has brought extraordinary operatic experiences to far-flung corners of the country.
These productions are built to be performed everywhere from major performing arts centres to tiny community halls.
The 2026 Opera Australia Children's Chorus
Fifteen talented local singers, aged 9–14, have been selected to perform alongside some of Opera Australia’s finest artists in the production of Don Giovanni.
Under the expert guidance of Children’s Chorus Master Annalie McRae, the Children’s Chorus is already hard at work in rehearsals.
These young stars will be provided costumes for their performance and will experience the magic of live theatre in this highly professional and powerful production.
