Summer Fun: Craft & Cocktails

If you ever wanted to dip your toe into being creative, then this class is for you.

Craft & Cocktails is a fun-filled class featuring some of our local talented artisans.

These sessions are a great place to learn new skills and meet new people in a relaxed environment.

All materials provided. No experience required. Refreshing cocktail or mocktail on arrival.

Saturday 10 January, 5.30pm to 7.30pm

Painted Botanical Wall Panel with Gabriella Domin

Participants will be shown various techniques to create their own colourful design on a ply wall hanging, focusing on botanical-inspired shapes and patterns and working with acrylic paints and paint markers.

Saturday 17 January, 5.30pm to 7.30pm

DIY Loom Weaving with Leah Doeland

Participants receive instructions on how to create their own homemade loom using small silver pins and a piece of chunky cardboard. Using supplied materials participants will have time to create a small coaster sized weaving.

Thread Drawing with Anne De Nooijer

Join local artist Anne De Nooijer for a fun, hands-on workshop exploring drawing with thread. Using sustainable, eco-dyed materials, you’ll create your own unique still life artwork - stitching lines, shapes and textures in place of a pencil.

About the Artists

Gabriella Domin

Gabriella Domin is an artist, designer and art teacher based in Port Macquarie, Australia.

Her practice spans across various mediums including painting, collage, printmaking and surface pattern design, and is greatly influenced by the colours, shapes and patterns of the local landscape and its unique native flora.  

“I am constantly inspired by the coastal landscape while exploring this beautiful area with my husband and two young children. Swimming, surfing and walking along the beaches here provides so much daily enjoyment as well as subject matter for my art."

Leah Doeland

Leah Doeland, a self-taught artist from Port Macquarie, is known for her vibrant, multi-faceted creations.

With a keen passion for colour, texture, and light-hearted humour, Leah explores unconventional mediums to craft thought-provoking art. Her compositions invite viewers to see the world through fresh eyes, with captivating objects that spark curiosity.

Leah's work, showcased locally and nationally, includes two public art installations. Leah's impact extends beyond gallery walls, with her works finding a place in private collections not only within Australia but also on an international scale.

Anne de Nooijer

Anne De Nooijer is a multidisciplinary Dutch fibre artist, living and working on Birpai Country.

Her practice primarily focuses on sewn and woven artworks. She explores the world around her, social issues and pop culture through contemporary textured pieces made with hand dyed natural textiles.
