About the Artists

Jill Cairns

Jill was trained at the National Art School in Graphic Design, then attended Sydney Teacher's College to further her career in Visual Arts teaching in secondary schools in Sydney and Port Macquarie.

Now retired and living in Port, she has built a studio, INNES GALLERY and WORKSHOP where she paints in oil and mixed media. Jill loves to work with larger scale to allow freedom in technique.

Jill has worked in her studio with a group of ladies, Innes Artists for the last 10 years and now this group travels and paints together for their next Exhibition. The group comradery offers her further opportunities to teach and develop further. Jill has won many awards in pastel, oils and mixed media and she has conducted many workshops in all aspects of art making. Recently she has been conducting workshops for the Glasshouse Regional Gallery in drawing and mixed media. Jill has had solo and group exhibitions. The thing that she really gets excited about is experimenting with media.
