The Glasshouse supports local schools and community groups with hands on training in technical services with the Back of House work placement program, operating in conjunction with Mid Coast Connect.

Each year, the program offers over 1000 hours of industry placement for eligible students to acquire entertainment industry experience and training across a range of technical services such as lighting, audio, staging and audio-visual effects.

Under the watchful eye of Back of House Coordinator, Adam Zakarauskas and his team, students are able to acquire hands-on, real-life entertainment industry experience and training from behind-the-scenes of actual events.

Jacob Killick and Josh Ray (pictured, L-R) completed work placement at the Glasshouse through Mid Coast Connect in 2018. This year their hard work, passion, and enthusiasm while on placement paid off when they were both successful in securing casual Back of House Technician roles at the Glasshouse.

Opportunities for permanent positions become available from time to time and applicants who have completed work experience in the venue are well placed to take advantage of those opportunities. Please contact your school or Mid Coast Connect for information about completing your Entertainment Industry Work Placement at Glasshouse Port Macquarie.
